Tennikoit will be among the activities on offer at the latest Community Games event in London on Saturday, 13th September.
Community Games are free to attend, open to everyone, and a great way to try new sports and activities in a fun, no-pressure environment. For the upcoming London Community Games, Team GB coaches from Tennikoit GB will be on hand to help people learn how to play.
The London Community Games will be held on 13th September, between 11am and 3pm at Barking Sporthouse & Gym (Mayesbrook Park, RM8 2JR). The event is being run by Inspire Activity and the NHS North East Cancer Alliance.
Speaking about the upcoming event, Tennikoit GB Chair Dave Scotford said: “The Community Games events are always great to be a part of. People come together as a local community and spend the day trying out different sports and getting active. It’s a fun environment, and it’s always good to see so many people trying tennikoit for the first time at them.
“We have been involved in a few of the different events like this over the years, and they have been a really important part of us working to get more people playing the sport. We know we have a World Championship coming up in 2027, and so we’re working to set the foundations for that now.
“Most of the events we’ve been a part of have been in the Midlands, and so we’re excited to now be pushing out beyond that. We’re looking forward to the London event! We’re hoping to be able to announce the details of a new community club getting up and running in London – and a couple of other places – really soon, so we’re going to be doing a lot in the capital!”
